Update One - September 23 Destination 1 - Fredericton & Fredericton Corporate Office
We are starting our Virtual Walk the Loop Challenge in New Brunswick’s capital city. Find out more about Fredericton below:
NBCC’s Corporate Office on Smythe Street in Fredericton was originally built in 1914.
It had 8 rooms and a second floor auditorium.
Originally held grades 1 – 8 until 1956.
It then became a Grade 1 – 6 school.
Its role as an elementary school ended very abruptly one day, in 1988, when a major structural problem was found in the building. A few years later, after proper repairs were made, it became part of the Fredericton Campus of the New Brunswick Community College.
There are rumors it is haunted.
NBCC Fredericton Campus
One of NBCC’s Newest facilities.
Its state-of-the-art building is located on the grounds of the University of New Brunswick (UNB), with NBCC students having access to many of UNB and STU’s services, such as the cafeteria, fitness centre, and in some instances, on-campus housing.
Officially opened June 30th 2011 in new building on UNB Campus.
The $15-million building, located on the University of New Brunswick campus, covers 4,680 square metres (52,000 square feet) and has a capacity of 400 + seats.
